Intimate manor houses and churches provide a unique ambience for the concerts of this delightful summer celebration. The versatile programme will include gems of chamber music, special events for children, and rock concerts arranged in local industrial halls. The festival will also host the Finnish national championships in operatic karaoke singing.
This splendid festival focuses on song music performed at local venues, together with courses for singers and musicians, and the Kangasniemi singing competition. The Artistic Director of the festival is the distinguished conductor Mikko Franck.
Celebrating our 40th season in this, the sunniest of Finland’s seaside towns, with the finest musical events at Naantali’s splendid mediaeval abbey, in idyllic archipelago churches and at other scenic locations. The festival programme will include park concerts, an evening concert and the highly popular Naantali Children’s Music Festival, with the Winter Concert Series providing an early start on 9-10 March.
This unique series of late evening concerts complements the mediaeval stonewalled ambience of Espoo Cathedral with a versatile, high standard programme throughout the summer. Leading artists of vocal, organ, chamber and orchestral music provide memorable experiences on intimate summer evenings. The Artistic Director of Organ Night and Aria is the distinguished pianist Erkki Korhonen.
