Bluegrass, polska, fado, Irish folk, jazz and many other musical styles have resounded through the summer nights of Haapavesi in recent years. Poignant, high standard church concerts will captivate audiences as the 2018 festival celebrates 30 years of providing a platform for new folk music and other genres. The 32nd folk course will remain the core of this international event.

Welcome to the happiest days of the Finnish cultural summer! Kaustinen hosts the finest review of Finnish and international folk music and dance at hundreds of performances, workshops, folk busking and jam sessions in an absolutely unique festival atmosphere.
A shipload of music, dance and merrymaking, featuring the semi-finals of the Golden and Silver Accordion competitions and dozens of performers, with busking and community singing in the gangways. Organised by Sata-Häme Soi Festival, this unique springtime cruise from Turku to Stockholm is the ideal event for all friends of the accordion, music and dance.
This urban celebration is a living part of Finland’s national cultural heritage that brings nostalgia to the fore. Organised in a museum setting, the festival has accommodated fresh and traditional perspectives on the Finnish Midsummer holiday since as far back as 1954.
The 47th Spelit folk music event will feature more than 20 concerts of folk music, dance and singing, dozens of smaller musical events and performances, the Finnish championships for harmonica and mandolin players, and the Spelit competition for one and two-row accordions. Some performances have also been arranged in association with the Kauhajoki Food Fair.
