Fine music and splendid natural surroundings combine to provide an unforgettable experience in Enontekiö and the North Calotte region. With concerts held in wilderness huts or churches, these performances are always truly intimate occasions for the audience. The events of this northernmost celebration of sacred and classical music in the European Union are mainly arranged during Easter week, but we also enrich the cultural life of the region with concerts at other times of year.
This unique series of late evening concerts complements the mediaeval stonewalled ambience of Espoo Cathedral with a versatile, high standard programme throughout the summer. The Artistic Director of Organ Night and Aria is the distinguished pianist Erkki Korhonen. Our 2021 festival will be crowned with a performance of Beethoven’s Fidelio Opera at Espoo Cultural Centre in August.
This unique celebration is dedicated to woodwind music, with a programme that will delight lovers of old and new music alike. In addition to chamber and orchestral concerts, there will also be jazz, folk and children’s music, together with master classes taken by leading professional musicians.
