This classical music event shuns all boundaries in bringing the finest artistic experiences to the enchanting fells of Finnish Lapland. Lieksa provides an incomparable venue for brass music, and the annual Brass Week brings together a large cohort of Finnish and international brass musicians. The programme will include a broad range of concerts, brass music courses, and an international trumpet competition, plus a generous assortment of fringe events, free admission concerts, outdoor musical performances and children’s events. We shall also arrange an international euphonium competition in 2018.
This annual specialised event provides numerous opportunities to hear Finnish and international organists, orchestras and choirs, with the organ serving as an instrument of several musical genres over the festival week. Since its very inception in 1973 Lahti Organ Festival has also featured films, circus, dance and various experimental art forms in the organ music programme.
This top class biennial piano festival will once again bring leading Finnish and international concert pianists and rising young performers to the finest concert venues in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
Master conductor Valeri Gergijev will once again bring the world famous St. Petersburg Mariinski Theatre Orchestra and soloists to Mikkeli next summer. Initially organised as an intimate chamber music celebration in 1992, our festival has grown into one of the leading classical music events of the Finnish cultural summer.
