This top class biennial piano festival will once again bring leading Finnish and international concert pianists and rising young performers to the finest concert venues in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
The finest mediaeval, renaissance and baroque compositions resound through the venerable cultural landscapes of Lake Rautavesi every year at the turn of July and August, with the mediaeval stone churches and leading cultural sites of Sastamala serving as charming concert venues. Our thematic five-year programme for 2018 – 2023 will transport audiences to a series of cities served by waterways that have linked them to the wider world and turned them into flourishing centres of culture. The theme city in 2019 will be Paris, the city of love.
Invigorating chamber music, philosophical debate and intellectual enquiry come together at this fascinating festival, with memorable performances in an idyllic garden city milieu just a short drive from Helsinki.
Fine music and splendid natural surroundings combine to provide an unforgettable experience in Enontekiö and the North Calotte region. With concerts held in wilderness huts or churches, these performances are always truly intimate occasions for the audience. The events of this northernmost celebration of sacred and classical music in the European Union are mainly arranged during Easter week, but we also enrich the cultural life of the region with concerts at other times of year.
