This city festival will provide music for a wide variety of tastes in splendid concert halls and archipelago venues under the capable guidance of Artistic Director Ville Matvejeff. The programme will include major orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera, recitals, jazz, world music and concerts for the whole family. Performers will be leading Finnish and international artists.
This unique event provides an opportunity to hear new and early chamber music at atmospheric concert venues set amidst the splendid scenery of the Ostrobothnian coast. Our new Artistic Director as of 2018 will be the Swedish violinist Cecilia Zilliacus.
The landscapes of Lake Tuusula form the crucible of the Finnish cultural world, providing the backdrop for a unique journey through the wonders of living chamber music. Artistic Director Pekka Kuusisto is expecting several leading musicians to take up his invitation to perform at the festival, as in previous years. We cannot guarantee that everything you hear will be safe and familiar, but open-minded audiences can rest assured of satisfaction.
