This unique series of late evening concerts complements the mediaeval stonewalled ambience of Espoo Cathedral with a versatile, high standard programme throughout the summer. Leading artists of vocal, organ, chamber and orchestral music provide memorable experiences on intimate summer evenings. This top class biennial piano festival will once again bring leading Finnish and international concert pianists and rising young performers to the finest concert venues in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
A week of top class concerts with leading Finnish and international performing artists at several concert venues in unique and scenic surroundings. Our chamber music entertains audiences at churches, chapels, village halls and other interesting venues in the district, with larger symphony orchestras also visiting in interim years. Artistic Director Anna Aminoff was also a founder of this festival in 2006.
An intimate, youthful celebration in the childhood stamping ground of Finland’s national composer Jean Sibelius, with concerts in various districts of Loviisa, just an hour’s drive from Helsinki to the East. With short distances between performance venues, a warm concert mood is guaranteed to pervade these idyllic surroundings.
Master conductor Valeri Gergijev will once again bring the world famous St. Petersburg Mariinski Theatre Orchestra and soloists to Mikkeli next summer. Initially organised as an intimate chamber music celebration in 1992, our festival has grown into one of the leading classical music events of the Finnish cultural summer.
