Forming one of Finland’s largest cultural events as a whole, this multi-arts programme incorporates exhibitions of Finnish contemporary art, concerts, and competitions for singing and visual art. Salmela Art Centre will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2019. The Centre also incorporates the operations of Vuohijärvi Nature and Culture Centre in Kouvola. Salmela Art Centre will be open from 11.00 to 18.00 every day between 8 June and 11 August 2019.

Mänttä Art Festival

Organised since 1993, this festival is Finland’s leading summer reviews of contemporary art, with a new curator bringing a fresh perspective to the exhibition every year. For more than a decade the main exhibition venue has been Pekilo, a former animal feed refinery near the Mänttä mill chimneystack. This is an event that brings contemporary art down to earth at a family-friendly destination.
