The seven festivals and fringe events of this late summer celebration attract a total of between 55 and 60 thousand visitors every year. Oulu August Festival incorporates Elojazz, Oulunsalo Soi Chamber Music Festival, Muusajuhlat Literary art festival, Oulu Arts Night, Koiteli Elää pop and rock festival, Oulu Music Video Festival and the Air Guitar World Championships. The programme varies from year to year, ranging from small concert events and the Oulu August Festival presents series for local talent to contemporary circus and choral celebrations. Many programme events are also open to the public free of charge, meaning that everyone is invited to our August sensation!
The cultures of the world will come together in Kaisaniemi Park and the Central Railway Station Square on the last weekend in May for a major free event offering a wealth of art and action for the whole family.
